On behalf of the Lions Club Purmerend Marktsteade, Gea Karhof came to visit our children's home to handover a symbolic cheque of 3905 euro's. This amount of money is donated on our project account of the Wilde Ganzen through which we get another 60% on top of it. The total amount of money now is over 6200 euro's, what is an amazing amount.

The Lions collected this money by selling second hand books and by selling cartoons made by a famous cartoonist to the public on the book market that particular day. The profit of this all went into the pot of charity, building our new children's home and the dormitories for the children of the Hamro Gaun project.

Gea is a well known artist connected to the Art-centre Haarlem and she was in Nepal together with her friend Nan Mulder to open their exposition of Print's in the Siddharta Art Gallery in Kathmandu. There they show their art in cooperation with 2 well known Nepalese female artists. Coincidently within our group of children there are some older children that are having a good feeling and mind set about art (painting, drawing etc.).
Gea and Nan, while they were in Nepal, took a look at the work of Rakesh, Surendra, Ishwori and Sagar and were impressed by their artistic quality. They are going to discuss with their Nepalese colleagues of the art Gallery if they can provide some support to our children to make them enthusiastic to carry on with their creativity.

In a word; a special meeting between experienced artists and potential artistic talent. “East meet West” with the financial support of the Lions, so we can continue with building our new buildings.
