Pokhara Vocational Trainings Centre

Vocational Training
Currently 90 boys and girls are undergoing training in plumbing and sanitation, electrical installation, beauty treatment or secretarial courses.

Formal Education
Lessons in Nepali, English, Maths and Science.

Residential Care
Dining facilities, after-school tuition, home science skills etc. The hostel parents are trained in providing 24 hour care.

Psycho-social Counselling
A social worker and counsellor are available at any time for students to approach. Each student receives regular individual assessment from a counsellor, and there is also group counselling.

Extra-curricular Facilities
A variety of activities such as sport, dance, drama and environmental issues.

Reunification with Families
Work on reunification once the students graduate from JYOTI centre.

Socialisation and Life Skills
The youths are taught socialisation and life skills in order for them to be able to integrate fully back into society.

Referral Organizations and Networking
Contact with referral organisations before and after the selection of students. Increasing the network of organizations who work with the same target groups.

Midway Home
CWSN is looking to provide a midway home for the students after graduation, to help them while they are beginning to find their feet back in society. This will provide those without homes with cheap accommodation and regular visits from a social worker for a year after graduation, while they readjust to living outside the JYOTI Centre.
