Our friends and regular visitors to our Children home Hamro Niwas, Co and Corrie Reijnders from Enkhuizen, were the guests of honour during the opening of the Holland Building in Kathmandu. This is a centre for children with a Cerebral Palsey and their parents. During the day they are taught and taken care off. The Centre is called CP Centre (Cerebral Palsey). Co and Corrie, together with a couple from Ireland, collected all the money needed for this centre.
There were many guests from Nepal and abroad and many balloons coloured the sky, just across the Boeing of Thai Airlines that just at that time was flying quite low. It was a quite spectacular event. See here for the article in the newspaper and a couple of pictures that represent the atmosphere very well.

It was however the question if the opening could take place, because of the Andolan that was going on and the issue of the King that he was almost forced to give back the power to the people. Therefore it was quite dangerous to be in the streets and actually not very wise to go outside. But the King was just in time to give back democracy and so the opening could continue.
