When Bhagwan Das Manandhar was little kid in 1930 his father took him in Bagmati River, which flows in the heart of Capital Kathmandu. His father makes "Meeteri" (Never separate friendship) with this river and told him "You have to love and care her until you won't be able to move". Bhagwan Das was involved to clean this river since 1949 till now. The last 56 years he spent more than 8 hours to clean Bagmati River. When he was young he cleaned this river 12 hours per day. Now Bhagwan Das is 80 and he still devotes 8 hours per day to clean this River.

Unfortunately this is necessary because most of the Nepali people are convinced of the holy meaning of this river. In the meantime they use this river to put their garbage in. The beautiful blue water of this river has turned into a black, thick mass which smell awful. It's unbelievable that although this is the holy river, people don't take care of the beauty ness.
The same things happen around the temples like Pashupatinath… Obviously nobody told this man on the picture “You have to love and care her until you won't be able to move".
I'm afraid, there is still a long way to go for Nepal and his citizens .
