Mother's day, the 1st prize, Clowntje Rico and 2 new children in our children home!

Tuesday, the 17th of April; mothers day in Nepal, a day to celebrate.
All offices are closed, because all mothers are worshipped on this special day.
In our children home we have three mothers, Debokhi, the mother of Sabina and Prabina, Jyoti, the mother of Parbati, Surendra, Dharnidar and Laxmi, and our super Aunty.

The children made beautiful drawings, which they gave to the mums in the morning.
Aunty herself doesn't have children, but she is the best mum of Kathmandu. And for that we celebrated. The day before we ordered a great cake, that we gave to Aunty on mothers day. Clowntje Rico was also at the party and this ensured hilarity when the children were eating this delicious cake.

In the meantime the school holiday is still going on and our children received their school reports. All our children have succeeded and they will go to the following class. There were also a couple of super kid's; Narayan became first of his class, Manju third of her group and Surendra Paneru fifth of the class. These children got a special praise and a gift. After that all children got nice presents, this because of their great school reports. Clowntje Rico also wanted some of the presents and tried to get them from the children.
Of course Aunty and Verena did not let this happen.

This same day Bart van Bunningen his parents visited the children home. They brought two pair of football shoes. Narayan got a pair, as a bonus and as you can see in the picture; he's a real winner! Dad and Mum van Bunningen thank you very much!
But also my special thanks goes to Marijke van Yperen from Delft, her Clowntje Rico act was fantastic! I can really recommend her, if you need some one to make a great party at school or at home. Marijke, dheraai dhanjabaad!

Two new children in our children home!!

Soroe en Annisha
There was an agreement that after we moved to our new home, we would take four new kids, so then there would be 35 children living in the children home.
There were lots of applications; over 20 kids in need are on our list.
We made a choice from this list and visited the children in their current situation.
In Pokhara two girls and their brother where visited. Their mother died and their dad is in jail. In this case they are called orphanages, because none of the parents can take care of them. During the visit, it became clear that the girls were housed at acquaintances; their situation was very unstable so they really had to get out of there.

The boy lived at his aunt's place, who took good care of him. He went to school and had a nice niece with whom he played fondly. He had a good home and did not want to leave.
So we made the decision to take in the two girls. This happened to be on mother's day.
They were brought over from Pokhara to Kathmandu and were directly taken to our children home in Sankhu. Clowntje Rico made a big happing and announcement of the story about the two sisters Annisha and Soru that were coming that same day, afternoon time. So all the kids made presents for them

aankomstdag
When they arrived they had to get used to the new environment, luckily the presents helped a lot. After the presents our big girls took them by the hand and showed them their beds in the girl's room. Within a day they where used to their new home. The next day they went to their new school in Sanku with all the other children

So now we have two new sweet happy children who have a place to be; a safe home.
This is the crown on our work!

P.s.;
On the picture below, almost at the same time. The holly riverbank in the middle of the city Kathmandu. It should not have been happening, but this is what is surrounding us constantly. Terrible, but true!
Can you help us???!!!
